Calculator inputs stay in your browser
CalcBrit’s calculator code processes the figures you enter on your device. It does not send those figures to a calculator API, save them in an account or store them in browser storage. The calculators do not request your location.
Information you send when contacting us
The contact form asks for your email address and message. It prepares an email in your chosen email app; nothing is sent to CalcBrit until you send that email. The form does not upload your message to a form-processing service or save it on our website. Your email app and email provider handle the draft under their own terms.
If you send an email, we receive its contents, your sender address and any other information you choose to include. Your email provider may send a display name or technical message information. Please do not send passwords, bank details, National Insurance numbers or sensitive personal information.
Why we use correspondence
We use correspondence to answer questions, investigate reported errors, manage requests and protect the service from abuse. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us and maintaining an accurate, secure website, taking account of their rights and expectations. We do not add contact enquiries to a marketing list or sell contact information.
Hosting and email providers
The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites with Cloudflare infrastructure. Hosting systems may process technical request information such as IP address, browser information, request time and security events to deliver and protect the website. These technical requests are separate from the calculator figures processed on your device.
Messages sent to our contact address are handled through Gmail. Hosting and email providers may process information outside the UK under their applicable terms and transfer arrangements. We do not promise UK-only storage. Read OpenAI’s privacy policy, Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy for their practices.
Cookies, advertising and measurement
The CalcBrit application does not add advertising scripts, analytics scripts, tracking cookies or local-storage identifiers. Hosting services may use technical or security mechanisms to operate the service. We will update this policy before introducing additional measurement or advertising features that change how personal information is handled.
How long correspondence is kept
We keep correspondence only for as long as needed to answer the enquiry, handle reasonable follow-up, investigate an issue or meet an applicable legal obligation. The period depends on the nature of the enquiry and any unresolved complaint or dispute. You can ask us about or request deletion of your correspondence using the contact address above.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access your personal information, correct inaccuracies, request erasure or restriction, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Data portability applies only in certain circumstances. These rights are not absolute. Contact us to make a request; we may need proportionate information to verify your identity.
You may also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Read the ICO’s guidance on your information rights.
